Today was a big day! We got the sudden call that mom was moving today! We are now at Select hospital inside of Presbeterian/St.Lukes (The 5th Floor). It is really nice, she has her own room with a door, a window, and she gets to see Josh! They are going to start therapy here for a month to try to get her moving, and breathing with the trac (maybe getting off the trac but we have to see). Thanks for all of the prayers and well wishes, and once she gets settled and gets a daily schedule, we will open the door to visitors!
Thanks,
Colleen

"I Love You"
Today they put a little thing on my mom's trac to allow her to speak. The 1st thing she said was "I love you". My mom will be going to St. Luke's rehab in the next couple of days. We will let you know, and then she would love visitors!

Update
Hi all-
Sorry that its been a couple of days. Mom had her trac and her g tube put in yesterday. She is happy that she has no more tubes in her face. We are going to meet with a social worker sometime to start to figure out where she is going to go to rehab. We still have a long road ahead, but its nice to think she might be out of the hospital and thinking about rehab.

It's Benign!
It's Benign!
Which gave us all relief. However, she is going to need a tracheotomy because her gag reflex is gone. Her spirits are up though, and she knows who were are, and she can write us notes which is good. It is still day to day, but at least we can communicate now.

Brain surgery and Irish Dancing
My mom is doing well. She is recognizing people, smiling when she sees us, and giving us a thumbs up! We are still worried about her lungs and fluid inside of it but the x-rays says that they are improving.
The funny thing is whenever I am in the room when they do a neuro check (checking to see her movement) she sometimes will not move her feet. So I will tell her "mom point her toes" and she will do it! Then " mom kick" or mom do a touch up" or "toe heel toe heel" and she does it.
So we are still in for a long haul and we still will have some dark roads ahead but it was nice to see some good things today.

Intro
So I decided to start this blog so that people can follow my mom's journey. I will try to give updates as possible. In doing so, I ask that you try to limit calls as you can.
This all started with headaches that we thought were migraines that got worse, and so my mom went to the doctor, which they thought were sinus headaches. Then, when they were not improving they went to the Kaiser after hours care and they sent her to the ER. Eventually, they came home with a brain tumor. The ER docs said she would be ok with no surgery. However, the next day there was no improvement and so we went to St. Joseph's in Denver. The doc said we needed surgery. On Thursday, she went in an had the tumor removed, and later that night had a blood clot removed. So now we are waiting on the recovery and to see what type of tumor it was. Its a wait and see game for the next three days especially, not to mention the next weeks and months ahead. Thank you all for the prayers and thoughts, and I will keep you updated as I can.
